Elected Vice-President, then President of local Union, chaired monthly meetings, oversaw Grievance Committee investigating details of employee-employer disagreements. Member, Union Contract Negotiation Team.
Career in academic libraries, retiring from Reed College.
Regular attendance at and citizen participation in City Council meetings over the last several years, as well as related committee meetings: Short-Term Rental Workgroup, Manzanita Planning Commission, Manzanita Budget Committee, Manzanita Listens (New City Hall), COVID-19 City Council updates, etc.
Related short-term rental experience: owned 2nd home in Arch Cape, 2011-2019. Managed as a short-term vacation rental during these years.
My skills include organizing materials, independent research, interacting with the public to help them identify valid sources for their research projects, managing staff, and participating in a variety of committees.
I listen openly, seek common ground, and make decisions based on verifiable facts and the best interest of those impacted by those decisions. With these skills and my multi-year engagement with Manzanita government, I am confident that I can serve our City, and you, well.
